Dublin Coffman Athletic Health Care Center named after Philbin

Dublin Coffman High School is a special place for Dr. Terrence Philbin and his wife Cydney. All three of their children graduated from Coffman and benefitted from their involvement in various extracurricular activities, including athletics.

Philbin, an Orthopedic Surgeon at Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Center, saw an opportunity to give back. The athletic training facility at Coffman was in need of updates. The Philbin’s worked with school administration to plan a thorough renovation of the space with the goal of improving outcomes for injured student athletes.

Through their generous donation, the newly renovated facility has new treatment tables, upgraded taping station, new cardiovascular equipment used for rehabilitation, new flooring, counter space, lighting, signage and décor.

Pam Stotts, Athletic Trainer for Coffman, said the renovations have improved their ability to treat the athletes, “The renovations have increased the functionality and efficiency of the space, allowing us to work with more athletes and closely supervise those working on rehabilitating after injury.” She added that Dr. Philbin is a regular visitor at the facility, “Dr. Philbin is one of the biggest supporters of our athletic program. He regularly attends our sporting events, helps with athlete injuries and stops in anytime we need a consultation.”

Philbin, a self-proclaimed sports fanatic, has dedicated his medical career to helping his patients achieve their goals after injury. Whether it’s getting them back out on the playing field or simply relieving pain, he works closely with patients to create a realistic treatment plan.
