About Dr. Gregory C. Berlet

A dynamic point of view is how I describe my combination of training as a MD Orthopedic Surgeon with subspecialty fellowship training in sports medicine and foot and ankle surgery. As a consulting physician for the NHL Columbus Blue Jackets and The Ohio State University Department of Athletics I deal with highly competitive athletes but I spend most my time with the community champion chasing the goal of personal fitness. My practice is built on being a devoted patient advocate who strongly believes that the quality of education and training make a difference in treatment outcomes.

Throughout my career I have worked to provide leadership for foot and ankle education and regularly lecture nationally and internationally. As an active member of the AAOS Council on Education, past chair of Education for the AOFAS, past board member of the AAOS Continuing Medical Education Committee and Chief of Foot and Ankle at The Ohio State University, I am focused on raising the standard of care for all foot and ankle patients.

Research is integral to being on the forefront of industry advances. Throughout the years I have authored more than 100 scientific publications and am honored to have received several research awards. This research has given me the opportunity to be an innovator and design surgeon on many orthopedic implants including several total ankle replacements, always with the goal of increasing positive surgical outcomes.

Beyond my patient care responsibilities I enjoy being involved in my home community of Westerville working to lift up those less fortunate. My wife, Diane, and I relocated from Canada in 1999 with our daughters Logan and Jenna and became US Citizens in 2006.
